An expressive mid-century composition depicting a beach and beachgoers relaxing there, painted in oil on board. With impressionistic qualities, the artist has applied quick, loose brushstrokes that not only convey the fleeting and atmospheric conditions of that moment, but also add texture to the painting. In the foreground we see sand glowing red in the scorching sun and parasols casting a saving shadow. The parasols look very atmospheric and old-fashioned. The background shows beachgoers relaxing and the bright blue of a body of water merging with the same bright blue sky.
